|Returning from three weeks of holiday after the Hungarian GP, Fernando Alonso is well rested and recharged, ready to get back to work in Belgium.|
|He is also confident that McLaren will continue to get stronger.
Whether it is because of the break or his strong showing in Hungary, the Spaniard is more optimistic than he has been for some time and is looking forward to getting back out on the track.
“As the season progresses we are getting stronger and stronger and hopefully we can get more points in the second half of the season, this race is a difficult challenge for the whole team, the engineers and the mechanics as you’re on full throttle for almost three quarters of the lap, which makes it a tough circuit for both the car and the driver.
“We know we’ll have to work hard to get any kind of result there, but it’s a long lap and there are plenty of overtaking opportunities, so we’ll keep pushing to get everything we can from the weekend.”
Alonso also spoke of the appreciation he has for the Spa-Francorchamps circuit and of how the drivers consider it legendary.
